The Traxx Legion was the second largest political entity in the years before the Sundering and the Great War. Including all of its duchies, principalities and baronies, it ruled most of the southern continent. The Traxx Legion ruled a vast domain of rough mountains, river valleys, rocky coasts and countless islands. It was a military dictatorship renowned for military strength.


During the Age of Dawning, the great Myratz Empire rose and fell. After its collapsed, the fragmented population scurried about looking for leadership. The rise of the churches quickly followed and several religions flourished in the aftermath of the empire.

Perhaps in opposition to all this religious fervor, other new groups formed. These were the first formidable political powers after the Myratz Empire that were not religiously based. The Traxx Legion formed from many of the soldiers and officers that had been abandoned or hounded out of the cities when the empire fell. Little more than ragtag groups of warriors, the Traxx slowly coalesced into several strongholds and declared their independence in 155 BT. There was a great deal of friction with the Ke'tai and the Brotherhood of Ventax, but due to the nature of its citizens, the Traxx Legion shook of the unwanted religious arguments. The Traxx Legion formed along the length of the southern coast.


The Traxx Legion was a strong military dictatorship. This very efficient, somewhat harsh government promised honor, duty and purpose. It attracted many ex-soldiers and mercenary groups into its ranks. Eventually, a solid military structure, complete with ranks and insignia, had developed.

Legal System

The Traxx legal system was military in design and draconian in practice. 


As one might expect, the Traxx Legion maintained a very strong military force. For quite some time, the Traxx Legion was the largest and most powerful military force in the lands. Because of the Traxx Legion's large size and varied lands, it's massive army employed all manner of soldiers - common foot soldiers, naval mariners, knights, archers, combat engineers and battle mages.

Although never known for sophisticated magic or intricate spellcraft, the battle mages of the Traxx Legion were particularly powerful because of the Legion's access to large quantities of arkulyte power crystals. Although it was never officially confirmed, it was believed that the Traxx Legion had an arkulyte mine that provided them with an endless supply of power crystals. The rumors even gave this place a name... Kalrothis. The location of Kalrothis was a jealously guarded secret. Some historians believe that it was the arkulyte crystals from Kalrothis that helped the Legion win the Great War. In the waning years of the Traxx Legion, crystal mining declined. After the Legion broke apart, there was a great deal of internal conflict and Kalrothis faded into legend. It's true location was never discovered. There are those who believe that Kalrothis does exist and that the power of its crystals lie waiting to be discovered.


As with the other supernations of the time, the Traxx Legion's economy benefited from a wide spectrum of goods taken from a vast region of territory. The Traxxian people were especially wealthy in quarried stone, mined metal, precious minerals and worked metal goods. One of the more notable natural resources was arkulyte crystals.


In general, the Traxxians were a tough, practical minded people with strong wills and a talent for craftmenship and science. They cared little for nobility, culture or religion. This practical minded, number focused nature has been passed down to modern civilization on the south coast and can be seen in Kalimuran science, Drakkellian business and the various military groups of the Coalition.

The Traxxians had a tendency to create elaborate tombs for their greatest warriors, chieftains and mages. The greater the person, the more elaborate the tomb. Many of these tombs have multiple corridors and chambers. It was the Traxxian tradition that the deceased most treasured possessions were buried with them. Hence, these tombs were often filled with treasure (and trapped to keep out tomb raiders). There are hundreds of these tombs scattered about the southern lands of Ithria and it is likely that there are many more as yet undiscovered. This tradition of elaborate tombs and burying the dead with their most prized possessions continues in the Drakkellian Alliance and other southlands to this day.
