Greyland is one of the clan regions of the Kingdom of Normidia. The town of Rhatania is the clan seat where Clan Velderstan holds power. Clan Velderstan is ruled by the venerable Duke Armos Velderstan, who is rumored to be over a century old. Though ancient and frail, he is beloved throughout the region and surrounded by those who are fiercely loyal to him.
Greyland is a long narrow strip of foothills nestled between the northern mountains and the coastline. The hills are grassy and herds of cattle and sheep graze year round. Dairy cattle and sheep are both abundant here. The milk from the cows is used to produce rhatania, a smooth yellow/orange cheese with a very soft and spongy texture. The cheese is a major export and so associated with the region that the town takes its name from the cheese.
Greyland is said to be named for the dismal weather. The region is often overcast and rainy. Heavy woolen coats and caps made from local wool are worn by most men.
